My Story

I am taking on the DSNY Kilimanjaro Summit Climb for Caudwell Children and Caudwell Youth, two charities creating brighter futures for young people!

At a colossal 5,895m, Mt. Kilimanjaro is the largest free-standing mountain in the world, and my challenge is to ascend to the very top of the summit.

Caudwell Children believes that every child deserves the chance to shine. For 25 years, they have been changing the world so that disabled and autistic children have the choice, opportunity, dignity and understanding they deserve, breaking down barriers and creating a world where potential is celebrated, possibilities are endless and inclusion is the norm. Caudwell Children’s core services include; Family Support, Mobility and Sensory Equipment, Treatment and Therapy, Short Breaks, Autism Assessments, and Growing Together family sessions.

Caudwell Youth exist to level the playing field for Young People at risk. To change this, they:

  • Shape Futures: person-centred support through long-term volunteer mentoring and targeted intervention

  • Shape Community: positively impacting the community by connecting people together

  • Shape Change: reduce stigma, amplify youth voice and demonstrate best practice in the sector

They believe no young person should face challenges alone. In times of challenge and change, their services are needed more than ever before. Young people may experience mental ill health, be care-experienced, at risk of exploitation or offending. The complexity of the lives of their young people often results in their experiencing multiple challenges, compounding the level of risk they face.

Their core service is a person-centred volunteer mentoring service for up to 18 months, delivered across Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Slough, Milton Keynes and Luton.

All fundraising for the DSNY Kilimanjaro Summit Climb will be split 50/50 between Caudwell Children and Caudwell Youth, this includes Gift Aid.

The DSNY Kilimanjaro Summit Climb is generously supported by Paul Fell and DSNY Wealth Planning.
